The South Branch Library Senior Center Steering Committee was created to work with a consultant, staff, and the community to oversee the process for analyzing the feasibility of locating the Southside senior center at the South Branch library site and to solicit and gather community input and feedback. The committee will also develop recommendations regarding expansion, new facilities, financing options, potential partnerships, and staff and programming and report said recommendations to the La Crosse Public Library Board and the La Crosse Common Council. The South Branch Library Senior Center Steering Committee shall be comprised of up to nine (9) members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council, including representatives of south-side neighborhood groups, the La Crosse Public Library, the Southside Senior Center, the La Crosse Common Council and other community representatives.
