conducted through video conferencing and available for public viewing at the following link:

using the drop box outside of City Hall.  
Call to Order  
Meeting called to order by Chairperson Happel at 10:01 a.m.  
Roll Call  
Guests: David Buroker, Chief Gilliam, Chief Kudron, Asst. Chief Murphy  
Approval of Minutes  
Minutes of February 16, 2022 and March 1, 2022 meeting.  
Motion by Commissioner Jentz to approve the minutes of the February 16 and  
March 1, 2022 meetings. Motion seconded by Commissioner Kopp.  
Commissioner Nasif abstained from voting on March 1 meeting minutes as she  
was not at the meeting. Unanimous approval.  
Agenda Items:  
Fire Personnel Report - February, 2022  
I.  
Presented by: Chief Gilliam  
DISCUSSION:  
-Chief reviewed the monthly report and statistics.  
Motion by Commissioner Kopp to accept and file the February, 2022 Fire  
Personnel Report. Motion seconded by Commissioner Yutuc. Unanimous  
approval.  
II.  
Police Personnel Report - February, 2022  
Presented by: Chief Kudron  
DISCUSSION:  
-The Chief reviewed the report and monthly statistics.  
-The Department currently has 5 vacancies and will have 7 by April 20th.  
Motion by Commissioner Nasif to accept and file the February, 2022 Police  
Personnel Report. Motion seconded by Commissioner Yutuc. Unanimous  
approval.  
A. Appointment of Officer Matthew Lee Baker to regular status following successful  
completion of probationary period.  
Motion by Commissioner Jentz to approve the appointment of Officer Matthew  
Lee Baker to regular status following successful completion of probationary  
period. Motion seconded by Commissioner Kopp. Unanimous approval.  
Fire Chief Recruitment Process

DISCUSSION:  
-Chair Happel shared some comments with the Commission regarding the recruitment  
of a new Fire Chief and the importance of Commissioners being present for the  
recruitment process. In addition, he will be the media point of contact for questions  
regarding the recruitment.  
Commissioner Jentz made a motion to thank Chief Ken Gilliam for his service  
to La Crosse. Commissioner Yutuc seconded. Unanimous approval.
