Notices and Discussions  
Mayor Reynolds spoke on the groundbreaking for Fire Station #4 which will open next  
year and replaces a station that was built 90 years ago. It sends a message about the  
community's value of emergency services. Reynolds gave credit to Airport Director Ian  
Turner who has become an accredited airport manager via the American Association  
of Airport Executives; Turner is the first accredited director at our airport and one of 92  
accredited in the Great Lakes region which includes 12 states and 2 provinces.  
Reynolds thanked staff and volunteers for their work on the National Night Out.  
Reynolds recognized Planning Department staff for work on Consolidated Annual  
Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER); the reviewer from Housing and Urban  
Development had not finalized the review of the City's submittal but deemed it THE  
example to follow. He also thanked all of those involved over the last 40 years in their  
efforts for pushing forth the development of what is now known as the River Point  
District.
