While the Arts Board does not have decision-making authority regarding where the sculpture will be, it can make recommendations to the Board of Public Works, Board of Parks Commissioners, etc. Todd Bye, a member of the Friedburg Sister City committee, contacted Robin Moses about help placing a sculpture by German artist Wolfgang Auer somewhere in La Crosse. The committee could pick the scuplture up from Ohio and bring it to La Crosse if we can find a good location to place it at no charge. Hatched Baby is part of the Blue Baby project. The eggshell is about 6ft tall and has a diameter of 5 1/4 ft. The pecking head will fit in the egg-shell for transportation. It is approximately 90 lbs and can be lifted up by hand from 2 people. Some tools and fitting wood pieces belongs to the Baby to install or demount the head. For further detail, you can contact the current holder of the sculpture.
